Top Home Trends For 2023

As the festive season approaches homeowners planning to renovate in the new year are turning their eyes to the top home trends for 2023. For those looking for inspiration for their home extension, loft conversion or refurbishment – here are our building and interior predictions for 2023.

Consistently popular for some time now, the rise of ‘industrial chic’ is only set to continue.  Adopted by many looking to balance the cleanliness of minimalism with features that add personality, industrial chic blends urban factory-esque elements with contemporary, stylish décor.  We find many clients who are extending kitchen spaces or creating larger open-plan dining areas look to features such as exposed brickwork and reclaimed wood to add flair. This style works particularly well in larger, well-lit spaces and can be achieved on a budget with features such as these Crittal style doors. Crittal style doors are made from aluminium but mimic the appearance of Crittal. They are about a third of the cost of genuine Crittal and they look fantastic.

Another interior style we predict to skyrocket is the blending of old and new, as affectionately coined ‘modern rustic’ is appearing more and more across social media. Modern rustic is noted by it’s use of wood accents, soft furnishing, and warmth. Embracing rustic charm, large natural spaces are filled with a delicate balance of modern fittings alongside raw elements in a refined, reimagining of the popular hygge, Scandinavian trend we saw take off a few years ago. We always suggest making your design team aware of the style you are trying to create when remodelling a home, we can offer suggestions to incorporate the features you love whilst planning the space to mean we can seamlessly incorporate every fixture and fitting.

In light of troubling economic times, energy efficiency will be at the top of the list for many homeowners as we move into the new year. We have talked about different ways to manage both build cost and futureproof for unpredictable energy prices. Find out more energy efficient homes, kitchen appliances to cut your energy bills and how to extend your home on a budget. Economic anxiety is something we understand and can factor in when planning a renovation, we always aim to be transparent with both cost and project feasibility from the outset.

As we become more conscious of our individual environmental impact, we predict even more of us to look for ways to live sustainably. This can be both in terms of how we chose to build and the modifications we make to properties. From promoting natural light, optimising insulation, and reusing materials we are always interested in lowering wastage. In our SW18 project we were able to salvage the incredible reclaimed wooden floorboards. Not only was this beneficial in reusing material and reducing unnecessary material production, but it also saved our clients thousands in material and labour costs.

These are just some of the trends we expect to see our clients adopt this year but as always, each project is unique and it’s a joy to see homeowners put their stamp on a property. For the remainder of 2022 we’re offering a completely free upgrade to a consultation plus for all bookings.
